RALEIGH, N.C., Oct. 1, 2026 – First Citizens Bank today announced that Hope Holding Bryant has been named to American Banker’s 2026 The Most Powerful Women in Banking™ list, and Perry Bailey has been named to the 2026 Banking NEXT™ list. Now in its 24th year, the program recognizes women whose leadership, performance, and impact are transforming the banking sector and shaping the future of financial services.
Hope Holding Bryant, Vice Chairwoman
In addition to her role as Vice Chairwoman, Hope Holding Bryant leads the General Bank, which includes the nationwide branch network, First Citizens Wealth, and a range of specialty lines including SBA lending, a nationally recognized wine division, cannabis banking and more. She oversees approximately 6,000 associates, and the General Bank’s deposits represent nearly half of the bank’s overall deposits.
Perry Bailey, Regional Executive Vice President, Community Region
Perry Bailey leads business and retail banking for the Community Region, which includes branches across West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. She oversees business development, credit administration, operations, and regional strategy. Since joining the bank in 2016, she has held roles in the branch network and led Premier Client Services, a remote banking group serving clients across the bank's footprint.
